One of our newest Members, James' Barber Shop, all began in 1961 when the owner began working as an apprentice. He worked in two shops located in Tennille, GA for other proprietors before opening his own shop in Sandersville, GA in 1973.
James' Barber Shop specializes in basic haircuts, flat tops, and beard and mustache trims!
Their favorite part of working in Washington County is talking to long-time customers and friends, and making new ones along the way. They have enjoyed serving Washington County and have had the privilege of giving many people in the community their very first haircut!
For the month of May, we're celebrating National Small Business Week!
Starting Monday of next week, we'll be thanking and showcasing our Small Business Members, who are at the heart of Washington County.

Headed by the Washington County Farm Bureau, the Chamber worked to promote April as Anti Litter Month.
The City of Tennille, the City of Davisboro, the City of Sandersville, the Citizens Bank of the South, and the Georgia Department of Transportation all strove to help keep our communities beautiful with initiatives such as Trash Amnesty Day.
We even made a few videos highlighting their anti litter efforts! The videos had over 5,000 views!
Our April 2019 Business After Hours was held at Paul F. Thiele Park in Downtown Sandersville.
Not only did attending Members get to experience the usual networking, food, updates, and laughter, but they also got to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting of the redesigned East Haynes Street.
The Young Professionals of Washington County met at the Owl's Nest at 116 before our April Business After Hours for a fun April Mixer!
They had a great and relaxing time of networking, food, and beautiful handmade art.
Anti Litter Month was kicked off with the Anti Litter Breakfast!
Attendees enjoyed a delicious breakfast from Chester Dean's and had the privilege of hearing Ashley Bacon from Keep Milledgeville-Baldwin Beautiful talk about how her organization helps maintain a beautiful community and keeps litter off of their streets.
